Like Mary.
All are invited to join us in our Mother's Day Novena of Masses. In anticipation of this Mother’s Day, we will dedicate nine days of Mass intentions to honor the women who, like Mary, have special places in our lives. The novena of Masses will begin with our daily Mass on Friday, May 2 to Saturday, May 10. Regular Mass schedule here
Please share with us the names* of the mothers, grandmothers, godmothers, sisters, aunts, friends, teachers, and other important women in your life, as well as any prayer intentions, so that we may honor them over the nine days. Whether living or deceased, this prayerful gift is a wonderful way to honor these women and to express our loving devotion to our spiritual mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary, the model of all motherhood.
(*)The names will be gathered into a basket and placed at the foot of our altar at Holy Family Catholic Church for the Masses on Sunday, May 14, 2023 at the 11:00 AM English Mass and 1:00 PM Spanish Mass.

A Prayer to the Mother of the Lord.
for all who mother us:
Mary, on this day when we honor all mothers, we turn to you. We thank the Lord whom you serve for the great gift of motherhood. Never has it been known that anyone who sought your intercession was left unaided by grace. Dear Mother, thank you for your "Yes" to the invitation of the angel which brought heaven to earth and changed human history. You opened yourself to God's word and the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.
Dear Mother, intercede for all who mother us. Ask your Divine Son to give them the grace of surrendered love so that they could join with you in giving their own "Fiat." May they find daily strength to say yes to the call to the sacrificial love--the very heart of the vocation of motherhood. May their love and witness be a source of great inspiration for all of us called to follow your Son.
On this Mother’s Day, Mother of the Word Incarnate, pray for us who have recourse to you.
In the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Mary is the mother who watches over us,
her children on our journey through life,
often weary and in need,
anxious, that the light of hope not fail.
