Welcome back, Father Rudy
We are pleased to welcome Fr. Rudy back to Holy Family on September 12-13, where he will share an update on The Maalgo Project, the educational initiative he founded to support children in his hometown in Ghana.
Thanks in part to the support of our parish community, the project has helped expand educational opportunities for children through the construction of classrooms, the provision of school resources, and improved access to clean water. These efforts continue to make a lasting difference in the lives of students and their families.
Following each Mass, Fr. Rudy will be available in the breezeway to meet parishioners, answer questions, and invite support for the next phase of The Maalgo Project's work. Donations will be gratefully accepted to help continue providing educational opportunities and essential resources to the children and communities served by the project.

The Maalgo Project
Thanks to your support at Holy Family, the project has made great progress:
· Many children who used to lay on the floor to study now have desks, making it easier to pay attention and learn.
· School supplies such as textbooks, notebooks, pens and pencils have made learning easier and more pleasant.
· Highly cherished lunch for many kids who come to school without breakfast. $0.25 feeds a child.
· Access to clean water for the kids in school and for families.
In 2023, we sought your support to build a new school due to the increased enrollment over the years (because of the success of the Maalgo Project). Praise God, by January 2024, we completed 8 classrooms, making it possible for all the kids (from TK to Grade 4) to have a classroom to study. In September, when school starts, the 4th graders will be in 5th grade while a new set of Tk students will be admitted, bringing the total number of kids to 213.
Construction of the second and final building, consisting 4 classrooms, principal’s office, teachers’ lounge and bathrooms for staff and students, began January 2024 with the hope of completing in December 2025.
Just as in the first building, the community is committed to providing manual labor. We need your help to buy construction material and pay for skilled labor. The lunch program continues to be the powerful driving force for learning and attendance.
Our very own Holy Family parishioner, Tom Morrissey traveled with Fr. Rudy in June 2024 to Ghana to see the project and to lend his architectural skills.
