Queenship of Mary Novena

From Bishop Timothy Freyer on the occasion of this Novena, 

As we draw closer to “There’s More,” our Diocese’s 50th anniversary celebration at the Honda Center on Saturday, Aug. 22 — the Feast of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary — we invite our entire Diocese to unite in prayer in preparation for this event.


From Aug. 13 to 21, we will offer a nine-day novena (see buttons above), reflecting on selected titles of the Blessed Virgin Mary. During these days, we will reflect on our relationship with Mary through selected titles drawn from the Collection of Masses of the Blessed Virgin Mary, accompanied by daily prayers and reflections.

Our Intention as we pray this Novena:

Through her intercession, we ask for a New Pentecost and for renewal through the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, so that Christ may reign in us and the Gospel may be proclaimed throughout the world. We ask Mary to obtain for us the grace to listen to her words: “Do whatever He tells you” (Jn. 2:5), and to open our hearts to Christ, who desires to give us His life in abundance.

Thank you for joining us in prayer as we prepare for this historic celebration. As we celebrate this significant anniversary, we believe that the Lord wants to bless us and deepen our commitment to faithful discipleship. Let us entrust ourselves to His grace and confidently seek the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
