A Pilgrimage of Faith and Encounter
“I’ve personally seen the fruits of World Youth Day: vocations to the priesthood and religious life, marriages, and young people returning home transformed with a deeper faith.”
World Youth Day is far more than a trip abroad. It is a pilgrimage that brings young Catholics together from around the world for prayer, worship, formation, and a personal encounter with Jesus Christ.
From Parishioner and Pastoral Council Member, Sonia Anderson:
Our Pilgrimage
August 2027: Our group will be traveling with the Leaven of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (LIHM) Sisters, a congregation dedicated to the evangelization of youth and families. Our pilgrimage begins in Nagasaki, Japan, before continuing to Seoul, South Korea, for World Youth Day.

How Fundraising Proceeds Are Applied
Funds raised through local fundraising events remain designated for our participating pilgrims and state group. Following each event, proceeds will be reported to Sister Gianna and Father Sy, forwarding proceeds to the agency and the LIHM committee.
Once processed, the pilgrimage agency provides a payment link so designated fundraising proceeds can be applied directly to participating pilgrim accounts.
Individual pilgrims may also create a personal contribution page to receive support from family and friends: How to Set Up a Contribution Page
Funds raised locally are distributed among participating pilgrims from the same parish or state. Funds raised through national virtual fundraisers are distributed equally among pilgrims participating from across the United States and Canada.
Please Keep Our Pilgrims in Prayer
As preparations continue, we invite our parish community to keep the LIHM Sisters, priests, pilgrims, families, coordinators, and all those supporting this journey in your prayers.
May this pilgrimage be a grace-filled opportunity for young Catholics and families to deepen their faith, encounter Christ, and return home renewed in discipleship.
